VTMulate
VTR Emulation Software
VTMulate functions primarily as a VTR emulator capable of virtually everything an actual machine can do -- without any actual video or audio being recorded. Intended for R&D labs and systems integrators, VTMulate provides a convenient means of effectively having many more VTR decks available than is otherwise practical.
VTMulate displays full machine status, including all timecodes, to the user so correct operation can be verified. A timeline display shows all recording and edits made on the deck's virtual video, four audio, and timecode tracks. A command debug window shows the exact messages that were received and sent, great for tracking down interface bugs.
Running on most any Windows-equipped personal computer, VTMulate provides VTR emulation for a wide variety of decks. Personality files include ballistics for such decks as Sony's BVW, DVW, DVR, PCM, and EVO series decks, plus Panasonic's MII, SVHS, LaserDisc, and AJ-D series decks. Tape lengths of 5 to 60 minutes may be specified, as well as 25 and 30 fps frame rates.
