Control-L Connector
Information

The CONTROL-L (LANC) connector on the VCR will be either a 5pin mini-DIN connector, or a three conductor sub-mini stereo jack (3/32" or 2.5mm diameter). The pinouts for these connectors are as follows:

5-pin mini-DIN:

(Front view of connector on VCR)

1 = POWER (+6-9 VDC @ 100mA)
2 = Option (Unused on consumer VCR)
3 = POWER SWITCH
4 = SERIAL BUS
5 = GROUND

Stereo sub-mini:

(View of interface PLUG)

1 = SERIAL BUS
2 = POWER (+6-9 V.D.C. @ 100ma)
3 = GROUND

For a translation cable, connect as follows:

signal 5-pin mini-DIN stereo sub-mini

data pin 4 tip, "pin 1"
power pin 1 ring, "pin 2"
ground pin 5 sleeve, "pin 3"
