Interface Adapters
The RS-2/L and RS-4/L adapters offer a reliable and cost-effective translation between RS-232 or RS-422 and Sony's Control-L (also known as LANC) serial interfaces. All PC computers support the RS-232 standard while many of Sony's VCRs support the Control-L interfaces, including the new Digital Video format. The RS-2/L adapters complete the connection, giving the PC nearly complete control of video equipment supporting Control-L. Ideal for the new Sony and Canon digital camcorders.
The RS-2/L and RS-4/L adapters interpret standard "Sony Serial" commands from the PC's applications software. Such applications software might include Diaquest DQTimeCoder, DVision's Cineworks, Dubner's Scene Stealer, Pipeline Digital's ProVTR & MediaDeck or any of a number of tape logging programs.
Built in a compact plastic case, these adapters require no separate power supply. The complete adapter package includes a utility diskette loaded with machine control software packages. Both a DOS and Windows version give basic VCR machine control functions.
